In the late 1980s 419 scams have been taking place in some part of Nigeria which include the letter scam, but

when the internet arrived in the late 90s and the early 2000s some group of already 419 scammers and

cybercriminals simply come together to form a new community, this unfortunate stereotype coincided with a

period of economic difficulties in Nigeria, lead to the foundation of a new group of cybercriminals, dubbed The

Yahoo Boys. Deciding to transition from local letter scams to the digital email scams, this initial transition, simply

made a small group of opportunities incredibly wealthy, such as our stories protagonist Ramon Abbas publicly

known as HushPuppi, this guy would go on to become a billionaire Yahoo Boy dubbed The Billionaire Gucci

Master. He came from a very poor background in Lagos and from a low income area with few opportunities, But

this is the new digital era, where a guy with an intelligent gifted mind like Ramon filled with massless ambitions

could achieve almost anything. He obtained a penthouse in Dubai filled with luxurious sports cars and a closet

full of designer clothes including Gucci and Versace. One morning, In early June 2020, Hushpuppi was sleeping in

his penthouse apartment in Dubai, when a unit of an armed  Dubai SWAT team broke into his room and arrested

him over fraud allegations and money laundering. They sent him to the US where he was sentenced to 11 years

in prison. But how has it come to this?
